Electricity

Electricity

With Shoolagiri receiving close to 300 sunny days a year, conditions are well suited for solar power generation. This allows the Vanantara community to remain largely off-grid, significantly reducing dependence on conventional energy sources and lowering our overall carbon footprint.
For on grid electricity, tap-off points are convenient positioned at the entrance to each farm.

Water Management

Water Management

At Vanantara, water is regarded as a shared community resource.
Rainwater harvesting at scale ensures that rainfall is absorbed back into the land — replenishing soil moisture, recharging underground aquifers, and strengthening long-term water security.
From here, water is centrally managed and distributed to individual farms, serving both domestic needs and an extensive drip irrigation network that sustains the living landscape across the community.

Security

Security

A combination of live fencing that include several fire retardant species and natural cacti in addition to barbed wire fencing circumvent the boundary of Vanantara.
As a community Vanantara is well integrated into the local fabric, supporting education, employment and healthcare in the local villages, the quality of these relationships is our greatest security.
Our resident staff and a nightly vigil helps ensure we remain alert.
